Need help with vats bypass wiring

I bought a vats bypass for my 1991 v6 firebird, and I need a little advise on how to hook it up. There are 3 wires, I believe one for power, one for ground, and one to go to the ecm. Now I'm just not sure how to go about hooking it up. I found some answer(for a v8) saying that I need to connect the ecm wire to pin b6, the power wire to a6, and obviously ground the ground wire. I'm looking at some wiring diagrams and it appears that for my v6, I need to connect the ecm wire to pin f10 instead. Can anyone verify this for me?

Also, it shows that the power wire for the vats module first goes to the ecm fuse, then to pin a6 on the ecm. A few questions about this:
1. Do I need to remove the wires from the original vats module?
2. Do I need to wire the bypass throught the ecm fuse, then to the pin?

I would appreciate any advice, thanks.

I've also read that the vats system can be programmed out entirely by flashing the ecm. What do I need to buy to do this? Or where can I have it done?

Re: Need help with vats bypass wiring

Anyone know where I can even find the vats module? From diagrams in the service manual, I can't tell. It says behind LH side of i/p, whatever that means.

Please help if you can, I really need my car, it is my only vehicle

Re: Need help with vats bypass wiring

You have all the wiring correct, you can ground to the dash or any of these b5,b6,d6 or d7.
You can leave the passkey module in but will need to jumper the starter enable relay. the relay is located under your drivers side kick panel. You will need to jumper or connect the two large gauge wires together usually yellow and green. This will allow you to crank the engine.

Re: Need help with vats bypass wiring

So, assuming I am just going to leave the vats module where it is, I can connect the wire from the bypass module to the ecm to f10? Do I need to unplug the wire that is originally there?

What about the wire from the module to a6? Do I need to unplug the old wire and put this one in? Or do I need to splice the two wires? Or does the wire need to go through that fuse that I spoke about?

Is there any way I can leave the vats module functioning for the key checker part so that it will still ground the starter relay, but just have the bypass module in use as the fuel enabler? Or is it a must that I jump those wires?

And if I did have you program vats out for me, what do I need to ship you? The whole ecm and prom?

And thanks IMMENSELY for the help! It's so difficult to find any information on this stuff, at least installing the bypass module.

Re: Need help with vats bypass wiring

I sent you a pm, you can connect onto the wires and leave the passkey module in place. If the vats is working it will ground the enable relay allowing you to crank over the engine. IF you are not wanting to cut the wiring make a jumper wire to connect the two wires on the enable relay.
