dash lights dont come on

dash lights dont come on
hello all i have a 1992 firebird im restoring.and ive come to this problem the last owner put a aftermarket radio in and then when he sold it to me he took it out and gave me the stock radio. now heres the thing i have gotten it wired back in but now when i turn the lights on the radio light turns off and the dash lights dont come on. what could it be thank you.

Make sure the dash dimmer control is set at the bright position, then using a voltmeter or test light (the type for testing for voltage, not a continuity tester) probe BOTH sides of the INST LPS fuse.
If there is no power both sides check for power on the orange wire at the headlight switch.
Then check for power on the dark green wire at the headlight switch.
Is there power on both wires?

Slamming The Wall Is Not The Neatest Way To Remove An Engine

it works found out that you cant seeit come on except in the darkso used to bright new dashes of my 2000 neon
