tool for replacing the pins in GM connectors?
Is there a tool designed for removing the pins in GM plug connectors? I'm doing a LT1 swap into a 83 Camaro and need to do some wiring through the firewall multi pin connector. Also, can you get the mini pins that go into these plugs? Thanks guys.

a thick paper clip or a small precision screw driver work best for disassembly! I have done re pins and un pins on many connectors and after you get the hang of it it is very fast and easy. With a lot of searching you can find the female connectors but I have never come across the male connectors like the ecm has. You can buy weatherpack kits that have the connectors and the black plastic housing though.

is it a weatherpack or metri pack connector? The weatherpack needs a hollow tube to get them out, the metri pack a little pin. Caspers and others sell replacement parts as well as the little tools. I just bought a complete set of those things so I can do all connectors (even weatherpack ECM stuff and stuff like WBO2 connectors). Easy to swap. summit sells the replacement seals abnd terminal ends but BE AWEARE!!! Get tghe caspers ones. I have made the mistake of buying the cheaper summit ones and they are junk. The male ends fold over very easily. The male ends are the problem, not the females. I have had about 10 of them fail. The ones for the heavier gauge wire are worse than the others.

pretty sure rockauto sells the male pins for the ecm. not positive, but I think I found them on there at one point after some searching.
