Alternator overcharging

Hi I have killed two batteries (I needed to dive my car) I had to get to and from school and I smoked two batteries in my 91 fbird with my 86 engine 5.0 new alt 2nd reman alternator I have had to put in but it is still charging at 18 volts and the only wire I have going to my alt is the keyed 12v wiring and the wire off the stud to the battery. what wire goes to the other terminal?

solved i put the wrong wire on each terminal
