Dumb but: What is module in trunk?

I am ripping out and restoring my 88 iroc

In the drivers side rear trunk well. Under the locked compartment area, there is a small power box mounted to the frame. It has a what looks like a coax connector and maybe power going to it.

What is this? Is this for a power antenna or stereo? Can I just rip it out"?

I will take a picture, but it is a GM OEM part it has a label on it and is hooked up to the orange power lead from the tail lights. and has a brown shield wire with a twist on connector

Just what they want you to think and let your guard down! On topic though, is there an impact fuel cut of switch on 3rd gens?

Re: Dumb but: What is module in trunk?

I figured not but the location made me think of the cut off and I haven't noticed one so just wondered if there is one somewhere.
