inaccurate temp gauge fix

So I Have been battling a inaccurate temp gauge. I have finally have found a good fix. After buying several aftermarket temp sensors from autozone and oreillys. Some one suggested to buy the the correct AC Delco temp sensor part number # d1885 . My gauge is spot on now. I have verified with my laser temp gun. Alot of people trash the gauge itself for being inaccurate but its most likely the sensor. Also a great tip I read from a member NINA. He said to use a 2k potentiometer to sent the correct ohms to your temp gauge and see where it reads. Its a great way to tell if your temp gauge is accurate or not. I figured I would share this info. It help me a lot so I hope it helps someone else.
