fuel sending unit help

Tried the searches but couldn't find anything relevant.Ok awhile back my 91 rs lsx swap left me stranded. Just out of the blue thought the fuel pump went out no prime no pressure nada. Towed it to local shop and replaced pump assuming that was the problem and needed a bigger one anyways. installed and nada. Tech came to the conclusion that it was the wiring in the sending unit between pump and where it plugs in right above the axles. He did whatever to fix it, ran fine for months(other than fuel gauge only goes to half a tank now when full. when tank gets to half however gauge reads normal and tech said float was good and not stuck so....?) and last couple days intermittently does the same thing again of no pump operation(once a short cut out while actually driving). Then non at all. got back there and wiggled wires a bit and turned key on and first time still nothing then second all of a sudden cycled and primed fine so my question is: is there a way to just replace the wiring or rewire or do I need to redo theentire sending unit which my understanding is the pump cap and fuels lines etc...? Thanks

Given the gauge and the pump are two completely separate systems that just happen to be in the same location and you are having problems with both
I would 1st be checking the tank ground wire

Re: fuel sending unit help

ok this isn't mine but just a photo im using as a reference. Would it be a bad connection here or most likely at where it plugs into the body above the axle. Or at least somewhere in between correct? Or possibly somewhere else.Name: 100_2729.jpg

Only testing with a DVM if going to determine where (if ) your [problem is.
