1984 Fan Relay

Wiring up the fan relay after the engine swap. This is really more out of curiosity, but does anyone know why the fan relay hooks to the OPSU? The throttle kicker relay and fan relay each have a brown wire which then merge together and go to the OPSU. I'm curious as to why it would have this.

From what I know: Red wire is 12V, hooks to the starter. Green wire goes to fan switch, and black wire goes to fan. So what is the brown wire even for?
