ive already done a search on this so ill just ask it does anyone know how to wire up a toggle switch for the rear hatch. basically running a 12v wire to toggle switch then put the wire coming out of the hatch motor to the toggle switch

You need to add reason(s) why you want to do that.
Is your present hatch button not functioning?
Did a PO change something so the hatch no longer works?

Re: Toggle Party
There is no oower going to the stock switch and have no clue why and just thought it would be easier with a toggle switch

Re: toggle switch for rear hatch
Probably not a good idea to wire a switch directly to the motor. There is a relay in the circuit so you should wire to that if anything. But by the time you dig that out from under the dash and wire it all up you could could probably have fixed the no power to the original switch issue. Did you check the fuses? There is also a neutral safety switch connected through the trans shifter that prevents the hatch being opened unless the car is in neutral (or park?). You'll be happier in the end doing it the right way.

Ya all te fuses are good the po insalled a megashiter but never did the electrical part so he just disconnected the nuetral saftey switch and soldered a wire so its always in "park"

Re: toggle switch for rear hatch
Here's the diagram for your Hatch release button. The Orange wire to the hatch button should have power at all times. If not then the fuse or the wiring is suspect.
If you've still got problems after geting power to the orange wire you should check into the NSS,...... You can see the system as described by Base91;

Re: toggle switch for rear hatch
k so i was messin around with my car and tested all the wires listed in the diagram.. i have power to orange wire and and to brown (already made sure it wasnt the switch) then i taped down the release switch so the circut was powered. i tested the black wire on the motor itself and i hear a very very quite whinning sound coming from the motor... is there any way to bench test the motor to make sure it works, and also could the release relay be a factor in this.
(also my power door locks, power mirrors, and horn dont work????? i looked at all the fuses already

Re: toggle switch for rear hatch
Get a helper......
Have the helper push the hatch release button while you are probing the black wire that plugs into the hatch release solenoid with a voltmeter. There should be battery voltage on the black wire as long as the button is pushed. ( it's not very common that a black wire = power, but in this case,... it is. )
You can also run a 12 volt "jumper" wire from the POS Battery terminal ( or other heavy gauge power wire ) and touch the 'hot' wire to the terminal on the hatch release solenoid. The solenoid is grounded to the body ( ground is not usually a problem ) so applying 12 volts to the solenoid terminal should activate it.
Be advised,...... use a heavy gauge 'jumper' wire and only touch voltage to the terminal briefly, you will probably see sparks. If it doesn't activate; it's probably toast.
For your other failed options the testing steps are similar. Check for Power then Ground, ( Orange =Hot Pink&Black =Switched power, Black =ground), then Clean the terminals / connectors and probe for voltage when in use. You can also use jumper Power/Ground wires directly at the electric motor to see if the motor works when bypassing the switch & wiring.

Check that you have power to the black wire that plugs into the end of the solenoid when you press the hatch release switch. Next chack that you have the ground wire attached to the 10mm screw that mounts the hatch release solenoid to the latch. The other end of the ground wire connects to the body ground location below the pull-down unit. It may just be that someone took off that ground wire. The solenoid will not work without that ground wire because the solenoid is isolated from ground by the guides.
