Headlight Question 1989 RS
I just had my 89 RS re-painted and I have a headlight question. I am almost certain that before, all four headlights were on when switched to high beam. Since I got it back from the shop, only the inside headlights come on in high beam and the outside headlights go off. Vice-versa in low beam. Which is correct? Thanks in advance.

Re: Headlight Question 1989 RS
is it possable that all four of the headlights are hi beam? the way it should be is the two outer lights should be hi beam/low beam and then when you turn on the high beams all four lights in the front should come on...

Re: Headlight Question 1989 RS
That's what I remember. In looking at some other posts here, that is what should happen. I'm thinking that either the high beam filaments in both outer lights went bad, they got the headlights swapped outer to inner, or the wires were swapped when they put it back together. I was just trying to be sure that all four should be on in high beam before I took it back to them. Thanks.

Re: Headlight Question 1989 RS
the outer lamps should have a three wire connector while the inner lamps only have a two wire connector. it's possible that the wrong lamps were re-installed as the two wire (high beam) lamp 'could' have been installed in the outer positions.
test the three wire connector for power to two leads with high beams 'on'. clean the contacts, reinstall the connector and check your lamps. clean your ground leads and ensure good continuity to chassis ground. there should be a ground lead at each set of lamps.
