Testing a instrument cluster out of the car...

Hi everyone, I have a quick question. I removed the 145 MPH speedometer from my 87 IROC and I plan on selling it, however, it is pending on whether or not the thing actually works. There is no engine/trans/interior in the car and I don't have another fully wired up camaro to plug and play to test it. Is there any way that I can test this thing? I know the speedometer works as does the odometer, but the trip odometer does not work (it stays at 0 miles). I would like to test the voltage, fuel level, coolant temp and tachometer functionality, but don't know any of the electrical diagrams on the printed circuit at the back of the cluster. Can anyone provide any insight?? Thanks a bunch! Paul M

Austinthirdgen.org will have the wiring diagrams, then its a matter of feeding it what it wants, the voltmeter will obviously want voltage. The other gauges I believe all work off of resistance, so just tie a wide range variable resistor in with the cluster main power feed on (and grounded properly) then pipe in the signals and go through the full spec range

He confirmed that everything works (minus the trip) but that the speedo is noisy and groans during operation. Quick question for you...how would I go about lubricating the speedo to quiet it down? Is it even possible? If so, what would be the best lubricant to use? White lithium? Molybdenum? Thanks!
