Oil pressure gauge "possible electrical issue"
Had some free time this weekend so im trying to figure out why my oil pressure gauge is randomly dropping to red, normally this would be an indicator of low oil pressure however i know that is not the case considering i was able to drive an other 4 and a half miles after it doing that plus my friend says the lights dim at the same time it happens. So im thinking electric issue, I tested the charging system by checking voltage before and after starting the car, with engine running it starts at 14.52 and drops down to 14.37 after a few minutes. i would like to think that is ok but randomly the voltmeter would drop to almost zero for a fraction of a second then jump back up. I'm wondering if the voltage regulator on my alternator is going bad, dont know when the alt was last replaced.

Most likely the voltage dropout to your dash is causing the problem.
Based on your description your V. regulator is OK.
You have a bad connection at the ground or + circuit.
It would have been helpful to know if your friend was observing the car from the outside which would indicate a problem earlier in the line.
There are 2 connectors in the far side of the dash that you can wiggle to see if one of them is the problem.
If they’re OK you can connect a small light bulb (or LED which responds faster) across the power line feeding the dash.
Position the bulb so you can see it as easily as the instruments.
Now the next time the power dropout occurs notice if the bulb also dropped out.
If yes, reconnect the bulb further down the line.
At some point the bulb will drop out when the dash does, and you will have pinpointed the problem.
