Right blinker help

Well I had a brake light bulb out so I decided to go ahead and change all the bulbs while doing so.... Well now my right blinker doesn't work correctly. The left side blinks correctly but the right side stays on and does not blink but does light up... It hasn't done this before, I guess I shoulda left it alone lol...
Also before I bought the car, someone has replaced the some of the sockets, they are pretty nasty now and have a lot of yellow goo crap (electrical grease?) down in there. All the bulbs work because I checked them in other sockets on the left side as well. Thoughts?

Re: Right blinker help

First, get rid of the yellow goo. It is a dielectric grease. I had nothing but problems with the taillights in my 94 GMC truck when I bought it. Found the sockets were full of that crap. Once I cleaned it out, they worked a lot better. Also, make sure you have the right bulb in the blinker. You can swap the left & right ones to test. The blinking is dependent on the bulb providing the proper resistance. If you have a bulb with too low of a resistance, it won't blink.

Re: Right blinker help

I have the correct bulbs. They are all the same except for the reverse lights. Also when I push the hazard lights on, the light works on the dash and in the rear. One more weird thing. The all the rear lights on the left side are brighter than those on the right side....

Check the black(ground) wire on that side of the harness. It's probably damaged or cut.
