Single orange wire plugged into a block near fuses... what is it?
Found an orange wire going nowhere towards the rear and traced it up under the driver's side part of the dash near the fuse box.
It's a black box with only the one plug in it for that wire.
What is/was it?

I forget what gets plugged to that but, it's an auxiliary power distribution block.

That block feeds all the electrical accessories in the car:
Power seats
Power windows
Power door locks
Power trunk release
Power mirrors
etc. etc. etc.
Nothing to be gained by removing it

Re: Single orange wire plugged into a block near fuses... what is it?
Of course:
The block is part of the main harness, and provides a place for all that stuff to plug into, when it's there. Kinda like receptacles on your wall even if you don't have lots of lamps or TVs or whatever.
Quite harmless. And, just like receptacles on your wall, just because you don't have anything to plug into em, no point in ripping em out.

Right, but there was one factory plug and that orange wire going towards the rear of the car that was cut at some point in the car's life. Just wondering what it could have been!
