Distributor 3 wire plug
I'm in the process of putting my distributor back in my 84 z28 with original 305 and CCC. I took it out last fall to gain clearance pulling the motor. There are 2 sets of wires coming out of the base of the distributor. The 4 wire plug is no problem. However the 3 wire plug (brown,pink,black) dosn't appear to have anything to plug in to. Any insight on this would be appreciated.

Re: Distributor 3 wire plug
Okay. After posting this question I looked a pics of HEIs and realized that 3 connector goes from the base of the distributor to the cap. I guess it was just too obvious. Thanks for the great site. A wealth of information.

Re: Distributor 3 wire plug
Yup, the dist cap... connects the internals of the dist (ignition module) to the coil...
Pink = 12V (+ side of coil)
Brown = tach (– side of coil)
Blk = ground
