distributor problems

will a stock 91 distributor fit in my 76 350?

Assuming the 1991 distributor is from a V8, it will fit into the 1976 V8.

However, the electrical is not plug-and-play. Also, the 1991 distributor doesn't have any kind of advance mechanism (mechanical of vacuum).

There may also be an issue with the material the distributor drive gear is made from. I believe the gear is different for roller and flat tappet camshafts.
