what to do with unused plugs/wires
im doing the ls1 swap and there is a bunch of wires in not going to use, abs, cruise ect, what can i do with them besides taking the whole harness apart. id like to just cut them off and tuck them back inside the harness but that would probably short something out??
any recommendations??

Trimming and tucking works, but please tag each before you do it. Also, please disassemble and rebuild the harness to meet your needs with the swap. Wiring is difficult enough. A crappy job will leave you with more headaches in the end

Unless your talking about the LS harness,
The 3rdgen cruise harness can be completely removed from the car.

I always wrap with electrical tape as well before tucking, better safe than sorry.

You can cut the wires at an offset (Ie. an 1" or so) so the two ends can't physically meet. Then fold the long end down and wrap in tape. That said, I've been able to tuck the wiring with connector ends into the wire loom but it takes some creativity of placement.
If you're installing an LSx harness I agree that it's best to rewire it properly as it could end up being a huge headache.
