O2 sensor Lean? or Wrong?
codes come up 13 and 44. So is a new O2 sensor the cure ?? Or could it be an undiagnosed vaccum leak somewhere as told to me by other firebird owners. Mike from Auto Barn -really cool guy- says that these 1984 error code detection systems were dinosaurs at best and oft times threw out No codes to detect a problem,.... and that 44 and 13 codes may NOT necessarily mean a lean 02 sensor condition. I ran the engine and checked the spark plugs- they are clean- almost too clean- what is the sign that the engine is running too "lean",,,, Toast brown is Good but my plugs show no color. And of course- no more over rich soot on the plugs- The new Carb took care of that --- But maybe I leaned it too much?
