Making Headway
OK put the headlight switch in the on position.
Using a voltmeter or test light (the type for testing for voltage, not a continuity tester) probe the 16 AWG tan wire from the dimmer switch.
When you operate the dimmer switch what does the meter on test light do?
Then probe the 16 AWG light green wire from the dimmer switch.
When you operate the dimmer switch what does the meter on test light do?
DIMMER SWITCH COLORS
The colors are yellow for the power input, tan for the lo-beam output, light green for the hi-beam output.

My first thought would be maybe the relay's, I think if I remember right they each have their own, it seams to make sence if you were messing with things in the engine bay.

Ground wires connected OK on each side of the Upper Radiator Support ??
Maybe they got unscrewed during the engine swap and not re-connected ???
