Hatch lock
Hey guys gotta question I hope yall could help with.
I got this car long ago it was striped already of the interior harness I have got most everything hooked back up but after rewiring the hatch motor. I finally have got it workin fine goes up and down pulls the hatch even with the rest of the car.
My problem is I have no key to unlock it I have to get in crawl over the roll cage and use a screw driver to unlock it. I would like to know which wires I use to install to my hatch lock switch to unlock it. I have searched but no luck I find a lot of hatch motor problems but not new wiring for the lock.
Does ne one know which wires I use to run to my switch to unlock the hatch?
Ne help is greatly appreciated and I thank you so much.

Re: Hatch lock
I don't know what year your car is,.... this diagram is from an 86 IIRC. Pretty sure that most of this wiring was the same for most ThirdGens. ( I think 90+ have most of the wiring included as part of the dash harness,.... earlier cars the wiring was more of an "add on" option. )

Hope this helps !

Re: Hatch lock
The 92 style hatch motor was NOT like the diagram above. The one you have is the second style PPD motor that was used for 91 1/2-to-92 cars only.
I don't have that schematic,.... Sorry !

Re: Hatch lock
I would still replace the hatch lock or have it re-keyed, then hook up the cable from the solenoid hatch release to the back of the lock cylinder.

Re: Hatch lock
After inspecting my shifter more put it on 7 years ago haha. I only have a reverse light switch on it. I looked on the side on my emergency brake it has a prong and it gives me a ground when I pull the brake up. So can I use this?
I noticed on the diagram it has a release switch relay and a extended relay and the hatch solenoid. I only have the extended relay and the solenoid it appears. I was gonna use a momentary push button to release the lock. Will this work or was the hatch lock switch a relay its self? Do I have to buy that if I do where can I?
Lonsal I do believe I am goin to pull the lock and have it rekeyed like u said jus so I have something if I cant get this switch to work .
