Alarm help
So here's the backstory:
I was trying to wire up a dakota digital speedo calibrator and wound up messing up my car alarm. I was tapping into the wires going to/from the yellow buffer box. took it half way around the block when i smelled burning. pulled over, disconnected all the wires from the speedo calibrator box, and drove back to the house no problem. I went to arm the alarm, and the siren went off, doors didn't lock, warning light wouldn't flash. played with switches and still no change
Disconnected the battery and put her away for the winter.
This past weekend i reconnected the battery, turn the key to "ON" to prime the fuel system, didn't hear anything. Looked at my rail mounted fuel pressure gauge, and it was 15 pounds. So i turned it of, and then back to on again. Went up to 25. barely heard the fuel pump. But the alarm worked normally! so i disconnected the battery, waited 10 seconds, and hooked it back up again. Turn the key, I hear the fuel pump come on, fuel pressure goes up to normal pressure, but Car alarm goes back to setting off the siren, not locking doors, and warming light doesn't flash.
So i'm thinking maybe something happened in the alarm brain box. Has anyone experienced this before? Thanks in advance!
