need help identifying plug and relay
Hey everyone, been awhile but you guys have been a huge help in the past. Anyways I'm trying to identify a plug and a relay under my hood that are both burned up.
The plug is on the firewall, mounted by itself above the ac box, it's got 3 green wires and one black going to it on one side, and looks like 2 greens, a blue and a black on the other side, its four prong and they all run in line with each other (not staggered or square shaped or anything).
The relay is on the passenger front fender by the coolant reservoir and the battery.
This is an 87 z-28 carbed 305 with the 700r4 if that info helps. I did remove my AC and components and also all the smog equipment to run headers and a non CC carb although it did come with the Rochester CC 4bbl initially. I do believe these have been in this condition since before any modification was made. Thanks for all the info in advance.

Re: need help identifying plug and relay
Maybe these pictures will help for identification purposes
Thanks again
Edit: Apparently I uploaded these backwards so the first image is the relay and the second image is the plug on the firewall

Re: need help identifying plug and relay
Still seeking info on these - I know they are original equipment as the car was completely original when I bought it 3 years ago. They have no numbering or anything I can use to identify through parts catalogs. They may not be in use any longer after replacing c.c. carb and associated equipment, I will probably cut them back out of the way but still I'm curious as to why they melted

Re: need help identifying plug and relay
I'm going to guess and say that the relay on the fender is the throttle kicker relay. However, the manual shows the relay mounted to the radiator support next to the radiator and not the fender.
Can't really tell what's in the other photo.
Electrical stuff melts because of heat. Heat usually comes in the form of high current, high resistance or shorts.
