These photos show an unused wiring connector inside the console of 1984 Z28 HO 5 Speed.
What would it power?
My car does have power hatch release and rear window defrost, but does not have power windows, console clock, power seat, automatic transmission, rear wiper, power mirrors.
The power hatch release wiring is visible.
Rear window defrost is (typically) in the right pod, below the cig lighter. Heavy purple wire is a give away.
Power window switches would be in the same area in the console.
Power seat wiring is... wait for it... under the seat.
Auto trans - wires and plug would be at the front of the shifter.
Rear wiper? Could be, but that's not my guess.
Power mirrors? Maybe Pontiac put them inthe console, but Camaros have it on the doors.
It IS the console clock connector. No doubt about it. Below is a link to a clock, and it shows a good photo of the back where the connector would plug in. Thats what you have in your hand in the photo bubba.

OK. Thanks. Probably all '84s would include it in the wiring harness. As typical, no clock in mine due to digital clock located in the basic AM/FM stereo non-cassette radio. For what it's worth console bottom appears to have designation "clock without."
Its a good thing if you ask me. I liked the way the clock looked back in the day....all nice and fresh. Even back then it added a nostalgic look. Finding one now thats not beat to heck and scratched up is near impossible because of the clocks location. Non clock interior looks better now if you ask me
I have the same issue. I have an orange and tan wire that comes from my hatch switch to the 4 prong plug. i am assuming there is another piece to plug into?
