Digital Dash Odometer Bulb question

Hey everyone, I have the digital dash taken apart on my 88 GTA and I was wondering if anyone knew what bulb illuminates the odometer section. I can't seem to find anything online. Advance Auto and NAPA have nothing like the bulb. And the dealer is closed today.
Does anyone know the part number?

Thanks
Andrew

Re: Digital Dash Odometer Bulb question

You're lucky I have the digital dash apart right now. I took a picture of the original bulbs behind the odometer. These are in fact simple 194 wedge bulbs, also called T10.

I myself am planning to replace them with LEDs like for example these: https://www.superbrightleds.com/more...rofit-car/199/

A 194 (EXTREMELY common automotive bulb, there's probably at least 15 of those in your car and maybe 20) will also work.

I doubt you'll be happy with LEDs... the color rendering is usually VERY disappointing.

Re: Digital Dash Odometer Bulb question

Thanks for the response guys. I was talking about the bulb that lights up the odometer/trip info gauge. Mine has a bulb with two prongs sticking out of it. Not the normal 194 which is in the main cluster. It uses a different twist on plug thing also.
I couldn't find a replacement, so I ended up using a 194 bulb along with the plug for it. It got the job done.

That's a good thing... some would say, the ONLY thing.

Yo bro
So far things are looking good with some of those newer leds. Gonna spice it up with some white background job on the housing though. I'll post up once it's workin

I remember that one,... IIRC that bulb was installed into a WHITE bulb socket. Pretty sure it's a high intensity bulb throwing that produces much more light than a regular 194; 50 watts maybe ?? I'm not positive; but I THINK that it's the same bulb used in the 87 + Camaro 3rd brake lights.

I had another look at my digital dash and there is a bulb that looks like the one you are describing, however it wasn't on the odometer section but behind the oil pressure gauges...
Anyways for the record, it is a GE 882 bulb with 4.5 Watt. No idea why they would put in one different bulb among four standard 194. Maybe height considerations?

Re: Digital Dash Odometer Bulb question

The digital cluster on my 1988 GTA has the same bulb behind the odometer section as WNYTransAm described that backlights the mileage. I haven't gotten a replacement for mine, yet.
