New shifter, neutral and backup light help!!
Hello everyone, After all the work I have been putting in my 83 Z28 over the years I am finally to the point where I can enjoy it a bit and drive the damn thing lol.
This spring after fighting with my stock shifter and going through a few cables I decided to put in a B&m Megashifter which has been working great so far.
My car had the engine and transmission swapped by the previous owner so instead of the manual it originally had it now has a th350 behind a 350 and clutch and other things have been taken out. Now when going to hook up the wiring to my new shifter I am confused as I am not seeing the color of wires that it needs to wire up the neutral safety switch and my backup lights. There was only 2 big wires hooked to my previous saftey switch on my old stock shifter and everything worked as it should.
Right now for the purpose of being able to start and tune my car still I have the saftey switch bypassed by hooking these 2 wires together and ofcourse my reverse lights do not work. My question is am I going to have different wires since the car was originally a manual or do I maybe need to go into my dash a little deeper to find the wires I actually need.
Thanks for all the help in advance!!!

Backup Plan
Because it was originally manual, then converted by the PO, it probably won’t help to discuss original colors.

There’s no telling what the PO did with the backup light wires therefore trace them from the backup lights to find out where the PO disconnected and/or diverted them.
