92 Camaro no crank

Hi
So what I had been thinking was heatsoak on the starter, is turning out to be something else.

Last Sunday I took it out, and then it wouldn't crank. The next day still nothing. I grabbed my meter, no voltage on the purple wire on the solenoid.

Next I went to the neutral safety switch. No voltage on either the green or purple wire.

So next I went to the starter enable relay, no voltage on the 2 yellow or drk green wires there. The black/yellow (VATS wire) had some voltage like .6 if I remember correctly.

Symptoms:
Turn key to on, you can hear the fuel pump prime. Turn to start nothing happens. As a test we applied 12v right to the purple wire near the neutral switch and the car fired right up.

Crank Fuse: good.

VATS has been bypassed

What's left? Is the key/ignition the only thing left to trace back too?

Re: 92 Camaro no crank

Sounds like your troubleshooting it correctly and your down to the ignition switch or power to the ign sw.

Re: 92 Camaro no crank

Where does the switch get it's power, is it possible to check, without taking the switch out?

Re: 92 Camaro no crank

so if I'm reading that right, the switch gets power from S200, which comes from C-100.
Where is S200?

I have power on the main lug on the Starter. But I know there are 3 or so wires that connect there. Not sure if power is going from there on out.

Re: 92 Camaro no crank

I'm not sure where that splice is . You might want to check the 3 wires after the pellet ( fuseable link).

OK, I'll check to see what I have after each link.

Are those links replaceable?

Re: 92 Camaro no crank

To replace a link you need fuseable link wire.
