Ignition actuator

1982 Camaro Berlinetta V6 Automatic 43,000 miles all original three (3) owners.

When replacing my ignition switch, the ignition actuator rod disconnected from the ignition key lock cylinder and I am trying to reattach it. I have removed the steering wheel and have loosened the first housing but I can not seem to get the housing completely off. The turn signal is preventing it from sliding all the way off. Also, once this is removed, there is another housing that needs to be removed (circular one further down the column) and I am not sure how to remove this. Thank you in advance.

Tuned Performance,

My apologies, I am learning how to use the site, this is my first day on here.
