Wiring for distributor coil
I'm not entirely sure on nomenclature here so forgive me if this doesn't make sense.
On the distributor coil there is a red and yellow wire with male plug ends that fit into the distributor cap. There is also a male connector that looks like an L arm that goes from between the red/yellow to the screw on the right of the coil.
Now, there is also what I assume is a ground wire (black) coming out of the coil that was originally wired to the left screw on the coil. Are these supposed to be going to different sides? The ground I get but it seems odd to have a connector just go to a screw.

There's a black wire in the plug, that connects to that "arm" thing. It's ground.
The screw & wire & "arm" and all that, grounds the frame of the coil. Spark occurs between one end of the coil and ground; the coil wire output terminal carries the spark; that connection completes the circuit.
