Re: Wiring up the fan

It's art, dude on my car I did something easier. Go to your fan relay and find the wire that, when grounded, kicks the fan on. On my 88 SC with the single fan it's the thin green wire with a white stripe I think. From the relay, run this to a good ground (with or without a switch) and ur fan will kick on when you turn the key to ON. (With key on you can use the switch to then toggle fan). Haven't overheated in almost 3,000 miles

Re: Wiring up the fan

Is this thread about adding an electric engine fan to compliment the mechanical one?

Re: Wiring up the fan

This might help,.....

Rather than wiring it as shown in your diagram, consider wiring the relay like this:

I know it's a fuel pump diagram,.... but it's the only relay I could find showing the terminal #s rather than a letter designation for the terminals.

Run 'full time' power to terminal 30
Run 'full time' ground to terminal 86
Run power OUT to the Fan on terminal 87
Run 'switched ground' wire (to switch / thru switch to ground) to terminal 85.

This will allow the fan to be turned on any time the switch is flipped, even when the car is off. If you only want the fan to operate when the key is turned than wire from the relay terminal 30 to a "switched power" source.

Hope that helps !
