Power window relays

1984 Camaro. Where are the relays for the power windows located? I took out my center console in order to install a new emergency brake lever. When I reassembled the console the power windows would not work. I checked the fuses and they are all OK. Could i have shrted out the relays?

Are the wires connected to the switches correctly?

Yes. The switches are a source of resistance, as is the under sized wiring for the distance and draw, there is a considerable drop at the motor.

[QUOTE=Drew;6207849]There are none.[/QUOTEUs Is it possible to have shorted out the motors for the windows? Also, one of the switches came apart as I was removing it. I snapped it back together and using a volt/ohm meter I was able to determine that the switch was operating correctly. Also, of the four connectors per switch only one has power. Thanks!

That would be correct: 1 power, 1 ground, 2 motor leads.

Yes it is always possible that a motor has failed. Not likely that taking out the console would have caused that though.

Re: Power window relays

It's more likely that the circuit breaker in the fuse box has left the building. Look for the metal can labeled WDO. But then I'd expect if you have power at the switch, the breaker is probably OK. Might want to check the ground. It should be under the console, so it's conceivable that could have been damaged.
