LS swap. Need some pointers, please.

Hey everyone. New member, but have been reading tons of great stuff from everyone.

I’m currently installing a 6.0/4L80E into a 90 camaro RS. There are a few questions i’ve been trying to find the answers to.

I’m running MS3 gold box with their TCU controler and harnesses. This will be a street car. I want to keep all the usual, A/C, lights, heat also want to use the stock gauges. I’d like it to look as factory as possible on the inside. Question is, trying to get rid of as much factory wiring that isn’t needed as possible. Do I need to keep the factory ECU? And what else can I get rid of?

Second. I haven’t found a real straight answer or exact answers. This will be a single turbo set up. S475, T4, 1.1. It seems like it’s going to be hard to keep the A/C. I’m in Texas and it’s a must have. Has anyone done this type of setup with a/c? And would you be willing to share you knowledge.

Sorry if there is answers here already, i’ve been searching for awhile. Appreciate it.

Hi Ztuck , Welcome to TGO .

I will attempt to enclose schematics of your dash gauges , these will show you that as Scooter said there is no need to keep the original ECM to keep the original gauges functional , the Speedometer possibly being a different issue . You may end up needing some kind or other of converter box depending on what your doing and the VSS buffer's ability to play nice with it or not .
