I have an 88 iroc with a 305 tip and the previous owner cut a bunch of the wiring by the battery. there are two brown wires in the same loom, that have a white tracer on them and when i connect either one of them to the battery, the alternator will charge the battery, it only charges if one of those wires is connected to the battery. but if i leave it on the battery with the car off the alternator will buzz until the battery dies. im at a loss here and am dying to get this car on the road.

just figured it out, ran the wire to another wire that only gets power when key is on
