As usual, iroc-z.com misinformation rears it's ugly head. Stay away from that website as most of the information is wrong. The correct information was plagiarized from other sites.

The colors he has listed are available Camaro colors. You'd think that a website devoted to the IROC-Z would have only IROC-Z data, but not there. Those colors were not available in 86 on any IROC-Z.

Re: dark brown metallic, light brown and copper irocs

Well no chance really any IROC got these colors as they were only found on sport coupes, berlinettas and Z28s in the early years. Saw an 85 z28 light brown here in town two years ago still in original paint. It was a driver, but still in OK shape. Have since lost the guys number

Re: dark brown metallic, light brown and copper irocs

Someone used to make IROC-Z stickers for the copper color available in 85 and 86. I have a set on my car that match the original copper paint perfectly. The car is not an IROC though. Someone just put the stickers on years ago.

Irocz colors...

1985 White, Black, Bright Blue, Yellow, Red, Silver
1986 White, Black, Bright Blue, Yellow, Dark Red, Bright Red
1987 White, Black, Bright Blue, Yellow, Dark Red, Bright Red
1988 White, Black, Dark Red, Bright Red, Medium Orange, Medium Gray
1989 White, Black, Bright Blue, Dark Red, Bright Red
1990 White, Black, Bright Blue, Dark Red, Bright Red

The 1988 Medium Orange is a bronzish color, probably the closest to a brown you'll find. It wasn't popular but search 1988 Irocz on google and you'll see lots of pics of them.

Are you saying you have an '86 Z28 in copper or an '86 IROC in copper? If you have an IROC, an '85, '86, or '87 IROC that is, then you should have RPO B4Z. Do you have that RPO code?

The Camaro White Book will give you the color breakdown, though not per model. I don't think there's a similarly easy way to find out for the Firebirds though. You can assume that any of the browns (dark gold, light gold, etc.) are somewhat rare throughout, as by the early-80s, color tastes were changing away from the "earth tones" that were so popular in the '70s.

Re: dark brown metallic, light brown and copper irocs

Attached is a pic of my 88 medium orange metallic IROC. They were a limited production run of about 3,000 cars. GM used the medium orange metallic color again on 2001 and 2002 Camaro's but under the name sunset orange metallic. The color does have a cooper hue to it but it really is more orange.

I had an 88 sport coupe back in the mid 90's that was the medium orange color. Never seen another one since I got rid of it and got my iroc. Heres a couple ok pics.

Re: dark brown metallic, light brown and copper irocs

I haven't seen to many iroc's that were that red/orange color. I've never seen a brown iroc that was factory. Don't know if they made them that way, I've just never seen one in person. I have seen many '82-'84 Z28's that were dark brown with light brown trim or dark brown with silver trim.

http://classiccars.com/listing-17347...uri-64105.html

My dad used to have a brown '84 Z28 like the one in the add above. His was not nearly as in good shape as that one though. It had a lot of options on it including that appointment reminder thing that was in the headliner. It was an LG4/700r4/posi 3.23 car with T-Tops. Thats where my love for thirdgens started. That car was going to be mine but my dad never took care of it and let it go. The transmission went out and then he junked it after that.

There was an '83 Z28 for sale where I live a couple of months ago. It still even had the two muffler exhaust on it. It was also dark brown with light brown trim. I've also seen another brown '83 Z28 driving around where I live. The brown cars are out there just have to look for them. I've just seen more '82-'84 Z28's that were brown more than other years.

that's some trick, because the "red" cars in the background on the wall are the right hue..... strange??

even the lower red stripe on the IROC is correct shade, not the paint though?
