Quirky defroster switch
Got a strange one for you electrical gurus on board.
So I'm traveling on my fresh 305/350 swap out finally after a year of trials and tribulations and noticed that my rear window defroster switch activates when I hit the brakes. Kept turning it off until I got home and pulled in the garage for a closer look.
Come to find out the second I hit the brakes, the switch does come on and when I went outside and checked the brake lights, the main ones were off but the 3rd brake light was still illuminated, so I reached into the cab and switched the defroster off and then looked outside again and the darn thing was off.
This one has me scratching my head. Looked at the schematic in my Chilton book and cant seem to find the defroster switch. (maybe I need new glasses)
But if anyone can help me figure this one out, it would be most appreciated.
Thanks!!! Steve

I was maybe thinking about the ground wires, which I had to relocate further down on the block because of the head swap out to Edelbrock aluminum vortec heads....

You might want to look at your grounds. This doesn’t show ground distribution but a gm electrical service manual would.

So I did some chasing around the compartment and discovered that the RH Aft deck strut connection had came loose. Problem solved...LOL...wow...that simple
