Pontiac headlight vs parking lights question.

On both my 91 GTA and my 92 Formula, I can't turn on the park lights with out the headlights being up. I can shi t the headlights off, but they're still in the up position. I've seen pontiac pictures with the park and fog lights on and the headlights down. Is this a modification , or where should I look toto fix this? Any direct ion appreciated

Re: Pontiac headlight vs parking lights question.

When you push only the black part of the switch on, the park lights should come on with the headlights down. If you press the gray part both headlights and park lights come on. If you hit the bottom of the black switch, the lights go off and close. If you pull the gray part back out, the lights should stay up with the headlights off.

Lots of funky things happen when parts of the system fail, and if you have the daytime running light option with the light sensor in the dashpad, then you're on your own, because that setup is extra wacky.
