VATS wiring pigtail
My car will sometimes fail to start- the security light comes on but won't go off, indicating a VATS issue. Apparently, the key cylinder contacts are worn...
A friend at work who is familiar with the issue was kind enough to solder up a resistor setup that matches my key chip. I am reluctant to just cut my tumbler wires and solder in the resistor- does anyone know the pigtail that plugs into the VATS circuit? I would like to buy one, solder in my friends resistor setup and have it as a bypass or as a backup, in case my system continues to cause problems...

Cut the mating connector off the key switch wires (with some extra wire) and use that as your donor connector to make the pigtail.

If you want o send me a PM after 6pm EST I can find the connector and terminal part numbers for you if you don't want to do what QwkTrip said. The lock cylinder is replaceable, so if you cut that side and then need to un-do it, you can buy a new one. That's what I did in my car before I switch to the LS engine

There is a bypass made based off your key resistance.
Its kinda expensive for a resistor in a box but it’s a clean look.
Or just wait and see if scooter has the information.
