Headlight warning tone
Hi all,
92 Firebird. I’ve gone through the threads and don’t see this one. When I turn on the headlights or parking lights the headlight warning tone comes on and stays on. Will do it 90% of the time. Any ideas, advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank You.

Re: Headlight warning tone
Has to do with a little switch kind of thing that's part of the steering column, associated with the lock cylinder. It (the switch) thinks there's no key in the cylinder. That's what's supposed to activate the chime, is having the lights on with the key out.
It's a clear plastic thing about 1½" long and maybe 3/8" square with 2 little copper blades in it.
