Thanks for that solution
Do you know if it’s possible to relocate it in a different spot away from the fire wall like maybe behind the drivers headlight assembly on my car I just have open space right there

Re: Wiper motor relocation

The motor drives the wiper arm directly. Unless there is some kind of cable operated wiper linkage you can find somewhere the wiper motor will need to remain mounted to the firewall.

Man, imagining the Rube Goldberg system of drive wires, pulleys, and bellcranks to make a trunk mounted wiper motor work, is going to keep me awake at night.

Real Men use RainX.

Re: Wiper motor relocation

Just a idea ...could it be possible to make a electronic operating linkage from the wiper motor mounting behind the dash on the passenger side that reached to the wiper arms?
i must mention that I don’t have AC at all nothing is left from the AC I have open space there as well

That's a solid solution to the problem, might wonder if there's a smaller motor that would do the job. Not sure why he didn't just stick his spade terminaled wires onto the terminals of the socket, then pot them with epoxy, then run the wires just long enough to tuck them out of the way and crimp on a Weather-Pack connector to connect to the car. Assuming of course the wiper motor is never going to go back into the donor car. Even the stock wiper motors on later thirdgens have a chunk of the wiring on a pigtail with a Weather-Pack. A weather proof Metri-Pack or similar plug would save even more space over the Weather-Pack.

Thinking out loud, carry on...

Re: Wiper motor relocation

How much money ya got , JonJon ? ....

You want wipers without the big motor , of course it can be done !

Look into the robotics world , you know , the guys who build the robots that beat the crap outta each other (Battlebots) , those guys have got actuators plenty strong enough to move your wiper arms that could be hidden in where the linkage now lives . An Arduino driving a few solenoids and your in business ......

Course , if it ends up costing ya $500 or $1000 , don't say I didn't warn ya

Re: Wiper motor relocation

If it cost that much I’ll just pay it I’m trying to make my engine bay as spacious as possible it’s a Project Car not a daily driver so putting money into doesn’t scare me long as I can do what I desire

Oh sure! And then JonJon's Camaro becomes self aware, and deems all humanity to be a threat... Soon humans are an endangered species. I hope you're proud of yourself JonJon. Something... Something... This all could have been avoided if only you had respected your step-mother! Or something. Idk, but I'm sure there's at least an afterschool special, if not a B-movie about not building an unstable nuclear reactor in your closet from hundreds of smoke detectors. Tweak a few plot details and I think we could have a summer blockbuster.
