Axle/Gears: Stock / 4:11 Moser 9"

What’s this connector in the hatch - 83 TA

What’s the black connector in the white plastic housing for in my hatch area? I’m using harnesses from a 1983 TA to rewire my 1984 TA and can’t figure out what plugs into this.
