Someone HELP 1988 iroc TS/ Stalk issue
Hey everyone, im a new member but ive been on this forum multiple times reading up. anyways I need help! I have an 88 iroc z with an ls6 and 4l80e and Dakota digital gauges. when I key the car on and turn my right turn signal on the dash with itself will turn on and off like the power to the dash is hooked up to the right turnsignal, but if I turn my lights on and try turning the right turn signal, nothing happens and all the lights come on turn signals and high beam indicators on the dash. but if I turn the left turn signal on it works inside and out. im not sure if the gauges are wired correctly or not, maybe someone can give me a schematic? or tips? maybe the stalk is shorting out? has someone experienced anything like this? im pretty good with electrical just figured I would come and get some opinions for nose diving into this. I hope I explained it clearly enough haha.

Re: Someone HELP 1988 iroc TS/ Stalk issue
I'd start by locating and checking all the ground connections. Is the engine block grounded to the body/ or subframe?
Re: Someone HELP 1988 iroc TS/ Stalk issue
I believe I saw it on the body, I will have to check on that. but as far as the engine controls and everything like that it works great, just this pesky light issue. Thanks for the fast reply. would you know where I can locate a schematic of the car and its powers, grounds and controls? also I tried the relay but no avail.

Re: Someone HELP 1988 iroc TS/ Stalk issue
It sounds like the cluster is wired wrong. I just installed a Dakota Digital dash in my 88 IROC and there is a lot of wires that need to be ran to the control box. There is a good video on Youtube by klowny1969 that goes through the install. The dash also has two ways to wire the directionals. You need to check that, too. Trace the ground going to the control box.
I found this that shows the pinout locations: https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/elec...e-cluster.html
You can also go to Dakota Digital and download the manual:
