Did My Ignition Switch Fail or Something Else Electronic?

So I just got home and while I was driving I noticed my parking brake light was one. In seven years of owning this car, when my parking brake light stays on it can only mean one thing. I have an electronic issue. So when I get to the gate of my community, I notice my windows won't go down even though they did earlier without any problem. When I got home my key was stuck on and the car was stuck running. After fighting with the key for five minutes after some Googling, I pulled the FP/INJ2 fuse to kill the fuel injectors/fuel pump and shut off the car. I unplugged the battery terminal and was able to get the keys out but pushing them more forward and then wiggling them back. I played with the keys a few times with the battery unplugged and they still stick. Did my ignition switch fail? The same exact thing happened for years ago minus the windows not working. My ignition switch was replaced with I believe a BWD switch and my ignition lock cylinder as well. Could they both have failed after only four years? Also is the windows not working related or just coincidence? Though I want to take Christopher Nolan's stand on this one. There are no coincidences.

Update: I just went and checked again. The key now gets stuck in the log position and I can't move it to ACC, Run or Start.

Sounds like the ignition switch failed, there really isn't anything from the lock cylinder to fail, and I doubt they both failed simultaneously
Windows could be related to the ignition switch

Try some graphite key lube in the lock cylinder. The key sticking issue isn't real common, but I've had it happen.

Could a back lock cylinder cause Window failure? Perhaps it sticking in run caused an Accessory problem? The last time this happened I had no electronic issues that I recall. But I think only the Ignition Switch was actually bad. Also last time it happened the key's only got stuck on run. Now after I got it unstuck on run, it feels more tight on key itself this time.

More than likely I will try to spray come graphite to see if that changes anything and I may replace the Cylinder if it does.

Update: It was the Lock Cylinder. I replaced it with a new one and it works perfectly! Windows work again too.

Good job, at least your car doesn't have VATs which makes replacing the lock cylinder easier and less costly. I still recommend that some lock lube be used from time to time (once a year?).
