No turn signals or parking lights
Hey everyone,
I'm going through the process of fixing some wiring issues on my dad's 83 z28. As I started working on it, the headlights wouldn't turn on, the indicators won't turn on (no hazards), reverse lights, horn, or brake lights wouldn't give any sign of ever working. Currently, I've taken the entire dash out to clean up unused wires from the A/C delete and a few unused wires from the motor swap from the factory to a 350 (ex: OBD1 port connections)
My dad went to the same college I go to, and he drove this car every day to class in the 80s & 90s. Id love to drive to class in this car and restore it to the point he can drive it like he used to before lights, components, etc. stopped working.
Any help is going to be immensely appreciated since this car is his baby, and I'm eager to get it moving
At this point, I've been working on it for about 3 weeks for the few items that have gone wrong. I'm about to give up and just take it to a shop nearby (if I can get it back together) but id rather not since I'm 18 and in college, and can barely afford to look at it.
I replaced the headlight switch and nut, and the dimmer switch. The dimmer switch was the issue. So now I have headlights. Next is the brake lights, I replaced the switch at the pedal, that was the issue and the brake lights started working again.
I started to tackle the no turn signals issue, I've been graciously given the wiring diagram for all the lights. I believed it was the turn signal / Hazard switch and after going through the pain of replacing it (and cutting the wires to the old one (accidentally)) and reassembling it, I still have no turn signals or hazards. I believe I installed it correctly after finding a thread on here. But still nothing. And another big issue is the parking lights are no longer working but they were beforehand and came on when I replaced the dimmer switch.
Anyone have ideas as to what's going wrong and where I should look first?

Turn The Page
TURN SIGS: Turn the ignition key to the RUN position.
Using a voltmeter, probe the purple wire going to the steering column connector.
It's the larger of the connectors located on the right side of the steering column.
If there's power there, turn the blinker to the left position, then probe the LIGHT blue wire at the same connector.
Is there power there?

"Parking" lights: Check the fuse labeled TAIL.
If it's good check for 12 volts at the PULL FOR ON headlight switch.
Input is terminal F orange wire, output is terminal E brown wire.
If you have 12 volts in but no voltage out when the switch is in the pulled out position replace it sounds like the switch even tho you replaced it.
