im trying to re wire my fog lights. looking for some clarification. I tried lookin at diagrams but only ones I find are from later years, 86-87 with a fog light relay. 85s had no relay. the diagrams from 85 have no fog lights in them.

I have two wires coming from the fog lights, black, and purple.

I have two wires coming from fog light switch, purple, and tan.

purple to purple
black to ground
tan to ???

 

TAN ( BROWN ) wire is the power wire to the switch.....


This should help, It's from an 87 Camaro. While it shows a relay,... the relay can be omitted for a direct connection to full time power. Keep in mind the Fog lights will turn on with no headlights, with headlights, AND with High Beams if you don't use a relay.

** IIRC the 85 (only) had a Tan (or BROWN?) wire leading from the dash harness as a power source for the fog Lights. This is a pic of an 85 dash harness and I *THINK* the wire/plug marked with an "X" is the Fog Light connector.
