Wiring fog lights to stay on with lows and highs
I am wondering how i can wire the fog lights to stay on when i turn my high beams on. I have searched the site and else where but haven't seemed to find anything. i was thinking i could just tie the high beam relay wire into the fog relay so then the relay would stay activated but i don't want to fry something. If anyone has some insight that would be great. the car is an 87 iroc

Re: Wiring fog lights to stay on with lows and highs
My 92 didn't come with factory fog lights, but when I added them I ran a wire from the parking lights to a relay. That way they turn on when I turn my parking lights on. Since I never run with just the parking lights on, it works for me and they stay on whether I have the highs or lows on.
I would think that would be the easiest way to do it. If you've got the factory fog lights and wiring, you can add a relay that is activated by the high beams to keep the fog lights on. I'd have to look up the factory diagrams though to be able to tell you exactly which wires need to be changed.

Re: Wiring fog lights to stay on with lows and highs
i was playing with the fog light relay tonight and found i could run the fog lights without the relay but it was on the fog light switch only but i would like to keep the fog lights on the main headlight switch and have the fog light switch as an auxiliary switch like stock . how would you suggest adding in the parking light wire? thanks for your help

IIRC, the parking lights are run on a brown wire from the headlight switch. All. You should need to do is run a jumper wire from that brown wire to the relay terminal that activates the relay. I don't remember which terminal it is on those relays though. If you check a wiring diagram, it will be the one that the wire from the fog light switch connects to.
