Main power Wire

Im going to do a swap to a carbed 350. Ive removed all the passenger side wiring. Which one of the large gauge wires from the drivers side connector is for interior lights, power windows, radio etc.. (red, Purple)
1988 Z28 just want to connect for testing purposes.

Here Ya' go; from the 88 shop manual.

A4 and G5 both send power to the fuse-box and the Light Switch.

Re: Main power Wire

Thank you cleaned up my drivers side wiring quite a bit. Just have to rewire fuel pump at this point. Mice and humans did "CUSTOM" wiring on this project.

Re: Main power Wire

Can anyone give me a power flow overview. I dont need the schematic just how does the voltage coming from A4 pin get distributed under the dash. Looks to be a power block just sitting under there but doesnt seem to have a wire from the connector going to it.

Re: Main power Wire

A4 power ( heavy gauge RED wire ) goes directly to the Ignition switch ( C1 & C2 ) and also leads to the back of the fuse box to feed the power accessory circuit breaker. Schematic is from an 85 TPI, but I'm almost certain the circuit is the same in your 88.

Re: Main power Wire

G4 should also be RED Power supply.

B4 PURPLE is power from NSS to Starter Solenoid when key is in START only.

Re: Main power Wire

P.S. Looks like RED from A4 is the same circuit feeding the Power Accessory Circuit Breaker - AND - the STOP / HAZARD fuse. Find the red wire feeding the STOP fuse and that will lead you back to A4.

Re: Main power Wire

Any clue what the splice connectors are/were for. Yes I see the giant wiring knot on the yellow wire.

Re: Main power Wire

The Ground looks like it's not used for anything anymore,..... remove it to tidy-up a bit.

What-ever was tapped into the PURPLE wire,... it was only getting power when key was turned to START.

Yes.,...... YELLOW circuit is a BIG-TIME mess ! I'm sure you know already, but: FIX THAT !!!
