84z 305, car runs fine until the code comes on and then the engine wants to cut out around 25mph. Push the pedal down and it gets to that point and then it cuts out real bad like it’s getting no fuel but I let off and it’s fine until that point. I have had to replace the fuel filter like 8 times cause the car sat for 21years and it’s nearly back up to road worthy condition so I don’t think it’s that. Anyway to bypass that VSS?

 

It might be the fuel filter again actually.... erased the code and ran it again and she’s doing it still. So I’ll just have to drop the tank I guess. Still wanna get rid of the code 24 though.

 

Yeah changed the filter and it fixed it right up. I think the code 24 is still messing with my shifting or the fuel filter got clogged within 4 full throttles. Cause when I got to second on the 3rd and 4th time I full throttled it it got to around 25-30 and choked out again until I let off.
I know it’s not the tranny, when I go easy and gentle on her to reach 25-40 she does it and then cuts out. Help! Lol

 

I’m guessing it’s just crap from the tank. Might just have a external fuel filter so I can see what’s coming up from the tank.

could I just keep changing the filter until the tanks cleared? On probably my 7th filter within 500 miles. Maybe even 300miles.
