Cluster bulbs not working

1989 RS

Yes I know that their are alot of threads on this but they are old and slightly different from my issue. None of my fuses are bad, i did not wire the brown wire to my aftermarket radio etc.

Lights worked on and off and were very dim, so i replaced the bulbs with 194 LED's, I also just went ahead and replaced the dimmer switch because i had a $20 credit at autozone anyways. Still nothing, but i did notice that if i push the cluster into the connection all the way then pull it slightly out and move it up/down/left/right i can get the lights to flicker and every now and then find a sweet spot where they will be on.

Is it my contacts? they are clean but do they need to be thicker??? Maybe use solder (not that great but might be able to manage)? Im honestly lost. i even try placing a thin piece of cardboard behind the contacts so that it would have a tighter connection and still same issue.

Please shoot your ideas

It might be a loose connection, it might be an open on the internal PCB.

Using a voltmeter probe the
black connectors' gray wire.

If there's power there, even when not pushing on the dash, the problem is a bad connection between that connector and the dash connector, or the PCB in the dash.
