1986 2.8L, All three brake lights not working but all other lights work.

I only just noticed this issue tonight and the issue may be a few days old now. But all 3 of my brake lights (tail and hatch light) do not work but all the other lights work perfectly fine (fogs, hazards, turn, running light [all around, including red tail running lights], etc). I’m currently lost what it could be for them to just quit out on me. Any ideas what it could be great and how to fix it, Hopefully its just a simple fix.
I’d like to address the issue before I have to put the car away for the winter as now in Canada where I am, we got our first bit of snow which means the foot deep snow won’t be long.
Any help is appreciated

Check the brake light switch on the pedal. IIRC it's got an ORANGE and a Lt. BLUE wire on the switches plug. LT BLUE should send power to the brake lights when the pedal is pushed. With any luck all you'll have to do is push the switch back into the proper position on the pedals and the brake lights will work again.

I forgot to ever get back to you, I got the bottom panel took out after reading your comment and the brake switch connecters were a bit corroded so I cleaned them out with a wire brush as well as the break switch seemed to return very slowly so I sprayed some silicone grease in it and a haven't had a hitch since. The third brake light is still out but I feel that is a whole different issue. Thank you for the help early on.

Most 3rd brake light problems are caused by the contact panel,... just probe for voltage ( usually YELLOW wire on body, & Lt. BLUE wire on hatch ) when the pedal is pushed and you should be able to figure that one out pretty quick.

Thank you again, I’ll definitely keep it in mind when spring comes around just since the car is in storage right now for winter.
