Opinion on these hid conversion headlights.
I got a 91 firebird formula and the stock lights are dim as hell, just wondering if anybody had experience with these headlights:https://www.hidnation.com/products/h4666-hid-conversion-kit
I'll also take suggestions for different ones, I just don't wanna screw around with my wiring and I want them to look somewhat stock like these. Also I want them to last! So if u have used these, give me your opinion

Those are garbage and should not be marketed for that use. They are reflectors with a lens in front. You will be blinding the oncoming traffic
Morimoto has a bi LED in the 4666 size housing. I got mine from The Retrofit source

Re: Opinion on these hid conversion headlights.
thanks for the input, are these "plug n play" ? And are there any that look closer to stock? Also I don't know Jack about headlights so is $225 about what these all run for?

Re: Opinion on these hid conversion headlights.
They're as close to plug-n-play as you're going to get for something like these. If you aren't comfortable changing out the plug, you can get a small adapter that will work. The lights have H4 plugs. They fit in the housings of a '91-92 Firebird perfectly. They are the only hi/lo LED that fits our headlight buckets. I've had them on my car for a couple months now. They are awesome! They look fairly close to stock, but if they're off you don't see them anyway. If they're on, all you see is light. Oh, and they don't blind oncoming traffic either like a lot of HID and reflector type headlights. BTW, that's $225 for each one. But they are IMO the best lights on the market for the '91-92 Firebirds.

Re: Opinion on these hid conversion headlights.
I just saw this, I thought the same thing with the factory lights the first time I drove at night with my GTA. My solution, which is plug and play, was to replace the factory lights with Silverstars by Sylvania. They are a big improvement over factory and they plug right in and serve me well for the limited occurrences when I drive mine at night. I can't remember the price but they should be under $50.

Re: Opinion on these hid conversion headlights.
My experience is they are just really bright halogens with a slightly different color temperature to make them more white than yellow. Better than halogen, but nowhere near as good as a proper projector LED or HID. If you decide to stay with any kind of sealed beam you should consider doing a headlight relay upgrade to get the voltage to the bulbs higher. This helps even with plain halogen bulbs

They do have high beams, the light pattern is similar to the factory beams and I have had no issues with quality and have had them on my car about 3 years going on 4. Worst case you hate em' and are out $40 but if stock appearance and not modifying wiring is important they are a good option IMO.

Re: Opinion on these hid conversion headlights.
Used the Sylvania Silverstars for a couple decades now. Honestly I consider them stock replacements. Yeah, they'll be a lot better than whatever dim bulb you have now. But sooner or later they'll become the same dim bulb you are replacing. Just a hunch, but I bet it will be a while before I have to replace my Morimotos, and my beam pattern & brightness are FAR superior to any Silverstar bulb. Its more money, but well worth it.

Re: Opinion on these hid conversion headlights.
Silverstars are still a halogen light. The drawback to them is lifespan. The way sylvania makes them brighter, (but still 55watt) is by making the filament thinner. This makes it burn brighter, but reduces the life of the lamp.Anyway, that said they are a good alternative if you're not willing to go the HID/projector lamp route.
