Tail lights / stop lights! Wierd..

So I've had my tail lights working for a few months now, tried to figure out how to hook up the stop lights and I get this.... Both stop lights work when the lights are off, when I turn the lights on only the right side works? Kinda wierd..any suggestions?

Here's a video

Looks like the tail is wired for the brake light on drivers side Brake is wired to the tail? May be working but it doesn't show over the brighter brake light.

I actually pulled out the tail light assembly and pulled the bulbs still connected, I hit the brake and on the right side the brighter filament (stop light) is lit, which is correct and on the left side the duller filament (tail light) is lit, how in the world did this happen and what can I do to fix it? The left side is complete opposite. Need this fixed ASAP!!!

Isn't the answer obvious? Rewire them switching the hots to the other terminal. Unless the bulb is somehow in the wrong way, which shouldn't be possible. Try another bulb first.

Lol got it figured out. Bulb was in 180 off lol, I didn't think it was possible either but I pulled the bulb out and turned it 180 and viola!

Got the rear turn signals working now too! Almost there lol

Glad that's settled. You SHOULDN'T be able to put it in 180 out. An 1157 bulb has a high and low lock to prevent that. On to the next one, good luck.

It’s easily possible.

Many people install those bulbs rotated 180°.

To prevent that they should have been engineered a bit smarter with the tabs about twice as long, and the socket made from a harder plastic so it can’t deform allowing the 180° rotation.

Happy Racing!

It was hard to get out, I didn't want to break it in my hand trying to pull it out! It went in a lot easier when I turned it 180!
